Overview of Courses

SEAM 1: The Core Philosophy

This course is the general introduction to the Socio-Economic Approach to Management(SEAM), focusing on the origins of SEAM in organization development and accounting theories, the “Horivert” approach to an intervention, how to enter into an organization, the roles of the various participants in the organization and the time management tool.

SEAM 2: The Mirror Effect

In this course, the first major step in the intervention, the mirror effect, is explained and practiced, as well as the competency grid, adapting the pace of the intervention to the needs of the organization, and use of internal and external energy to drive the intervention.

SEAM 3: Calculating Hidden Costs, and the Expert Opinion

In this course, the process for measuring hidden costs, and the development of the expert opinion are developed, as well as introduction of two management tools: the Internal/External Strategic Action Plan and the Priority Action Plan.

SEAM 4: The Practice of SEAM

This course has three foci:

  • Connecting the SEAM management tools to get on-going steering, developing skills for leaders and internal and external consultants.
  • Attending the SEAM conference in Lyon, in which the focus is discussion by leaders who have used SEAM about their experience.
  • Visiting clients to learn from their experiences.

SEAM 5: Practicum

In the practicum people will put into practice the concepts and skills to conduct a SEAM intervention in an organization of their choosing. The work will conclude contracting, entry, doing the Mirror Effect, analyzing hidden costs, preparing the Expert Opinion, and developing of projects, and of course presenting these to your client. A practicum mentor will be assigned to each student.

This concludes the SEAM certificate.
